“Organization does not necessarily need to provide incentives for Interns”



The term interns refer trainee itself and no one in the world pays for trainee instead trainee pays fees for the training. Interns are hired on two bases, paid and unpaid. If the company/organization is providing incentives only for the personal expenses occurred during performing the job, then organization are paid internship and those company/organization which does not offer any type of incentives are unpaid internship.

Organization does not necessarily need to provide incentives for interns. Internship is done for enhancement of skills, knowledge and to gain work experience. Thus, the main purpose of internship is not necessary to provide incentives to interns. According to research, it is found that company hires the interns and charges various fees as per internship programs. Basically, internship is the platform for trainee/student to discover the level of knowledge, skills and the application of that knowledge which individuals are learning in their academic years.

Internship is the opportunity to experience the professional life which may further leads towards a job. It is the stage where individual can enter the professional world in order to groom their skills, experience and it is also the setting where individuals can express their views and apply their academic knowledge into practice. Organization providing incentives in the form of covering travel expenses from home to workplace. This can be considered as the support driven by organization for dedication of interns. If the individual expects more than that then the individual should go for a job instead.

In conclusion, people from every corner in the world are facing competition in every field. Every reputed organization/ companies are in search for fresher and experienced candidate. Therefore, the competition in the job market is increasing special in business,management and consultancy industry. Thus, it is important for individual to get some background knowledge of the industry and experience to ensure a competitive advantage from the rest of the candidates. This can be achieved from internship, I encourage everyone to take internship whether it is unpaid, as the experience gain from it is very important, it can also be your steppingstone for your career.
